An all day movie watching EXTRAVAGANZA!

Bring your pillows, lunches, and any special drinks you’d like for a full day at the library.  There will be some snacks, popcorn, and lemonade provided for this marathon of fun mix of 70s, 80s, and 90s movies. Enjoy an experiment gone wrong in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,  a classic alien movie in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a trip to the afterlife & back in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey , and see Johnny 5 come alive in Short Circuit.

The ultimate engineering challenge (and the most most fun!). Can you (or your team) use the provided supplies within the time limit to build a container that will prevent the egg inside from breaking when dropped? It’s harder than you think. Be prepared to see lots of broken eggs with this one!

Grades 7-12

Create a unique bag that’s all your own. Use bleach & fabric paint to create a galaxy of your own design. While the bleach and paint is drying between coats make a personalized bookmark to take home with you & enjoy the movie. Bags are first come, first served. An alternate craft will be provided should supplies run out.

Do you have a great story to tell? November is Nation Novel Writing Month and this year the Teen Advisory Group is challenging themselves. You’ll set the word count goal and try to reach it in 30 days.

Meet with your fellow writers every Monday & Wednesday from 3-6 for some group writing time (The library will be closing for the holiday Wednesday, November 27 at 5pm so there will be a shortened writing time) .

Register at and then add your name to our list at the library.
There are some fun bonuses for those who reach their word goal. Questions about how NaNoWriMo works? Contact Amy @ the library.
